The family roots It is one of the procedures contemplated in the immigration laws in Spain that allows immigrants to regularize their legal status in the country. This process is designed for those who have direct family ties with Spanish citizens or legal residents in Spain.
Requirements for Family Roots
In order to apply for social roots, it is necessary to meet the following requirements:
- Not being a citizen of a State of the European Union, the European Economic Area or Switzerland.
- Have no criminal record in Spain or in your previous countries of residence.
- Not being banned from entering Spain.
- Having remained in Spain continuously for a minimum period of three years.
- Have an employment contract signed by an employer in Spain or prove that you have sufficient financial means to support yourself.
- Prove family ties with other foreign residents or present a social integration report issued by the autonomous community where you reside.
Necessary documentation
The documentation to be submitted includes:
- Social roots application form.
- Valid and current passport.
- Documentation proving continued residence in Spain for a minimum period of three years.
- Employment contract signed by the employer or documentation proving sufficient financial means.
- Social integration report or documentation proving family ties.
Procedure
The application for social roots is made by the interested party or his/her representative using the corresponding form, entering the data in each field and attaching the supporting documentation. The procedure must be resolved and notified within three months.
